JS:CS will only collect and retain the personal data needed to fulfil our practical or contractual obligations to you; the client. This includes:

-      Telephone conversations (e.g. instructing our services, soliciting advice)

Information submitted via managing agents or other third parties (e.g. an IFA or Solicitor) on your behalf.

Information held in the public domain that is relevant and necessary for us to fulfil our practical or contractual obligations.

Limited technical information about the devices you use to access our website and the geographical location you access it from

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use any information we collect to provide consultancy advice for a wide range of property matters. This is, in most cases, limited to the individual and instructing parties (where relevant).

Your information may also be processed to comply with a legal obligation, regulatory obligation or court order that we are subject to.

WHO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH

 The nature of our business dictates that, in the majority of cases, your personal information will not need to be passed on to any further parties. However, there are some exceptions to this rule:

-      In the event that we do not provide the services you require, we may pass on your contact details to other trusted professionals. This will only be done with your express permission.

-      Details may be accessed by our accountant to assist in managing our financial records.

-      To comply with a legal obligation, regulatory obligation or court order that we are subject to.

Any social media posts or comments you make to us will be shared under the terms of the relevant social media platform (e.g. Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn). You should review the terms and conditions and privacy policies of the social media platforms you use to ensure you understand how they will use your information and what information relating to you they will place in the public domain.

SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION

Where it is within our control, we will endeavour to ensure that your data is secure. We take the issue of security, particularly cyber security, seriously and use data encryption across our network as well as ensuring that our website is GDPR compliant.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER OF YOUR INFORMATION

Although we work closely with managing agents and other third parties of an international standing, our business with those parties, and with you, is conducted solely in the UK.  Apart from exceptional circumstances, where any transfer of data abroad will strictly adhere to GDPR and EU law, any data we hold will only be used, stored and transferred within the UK, for legitimate, practical or contractual purposes.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION FOR

We will retain your personal information for as long as is required to fulfil our initial professional obligation to you and for as long as is deemed necessary to deal with any subsequent requests once the file is closed.

Hereafter any information held that is no long needed, in whatever format, will be securely destroyed.
